Week #14 - November 17th-November 24th
This week, I finally secured a long‑awaited interview with Leo Hoarty from the Enterprise Neurosystem, which was a significant step forward in my mentorship search. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to learn from someone with so much experience in environmental sensor networks, and I’m eager to discuss how my skills can contribute to his projects. Preparing for the interview has given me a clearer picture of what I want to gain from a mentor and what I can offer in return.
With Thanksgiving break, I had a few days to rest and catch up on sleep. It was refreshing to take a short pause from the constant demands of school and ISM, and it gave me the chance to return to my personal IoT projects, which I’d been eager to work on. Balancing relaxation with productivity helped me recharge while also making progress on the technologies that excite me.
Even though it was a holiday week, I made sure to keep my academic priorities in sight. I continued to prepare for the upcoming December SAT by reviewing practice questions and strategies. I also drafted a follow‑up email to the MIT professor who expressed interest in my work, ensuring that I maintain momentum in building professional connections. Overall, this week reinforced the importance of balancing rest with purposeful action, keeping me grounded as I take the next steps toward my ISM goals.
