Week #12 - November 3rd-November 10th

This week marked the start of the BPA competition season, and I’ve been actively preparing members by organizing resources, setting expectations, and helping everyone get ready for their events. I’m also working on my own two BPA projects, developing a web application and designing a network infrastructure plan. Both projects align closely with my ISM interests, as they strengthen my understanding of computing systems, connectivity, and user‑focused design, all of which are essential foundations for my future in electrical and computer engineering. It’s exciting to see how the technical skills I’m building in BPA directly complement my research and development work in ISM, where my talk in this blog can relate to ISM!

Outside of school, I continued my hands‑on IoT experimentation, this time with more hands‑on work rather than conceptual work. Over the weekend, I built a magnetometer, a device used to measure the strength and direction of magnetic fields. Magnetometers are often used in navigation systems, compasses, and environmental sensors, and learning to implement one gave me a deeper appreciation for how raw sensor data can be processed and applied in IoT contexts. I also have several other hobby projects lined up that I plan to prototype in the coming weeks, each focusing on expanding my hardware and data interpretation skills.

Alongside my technical work, I’ve been researching how AI models can be integrated with IoT devices to make data collection more adaptive and predictive—a concept central to AIoT systems. Finally, I’ve started getting back into my SAT study routine for the December test, aiming to balance academic preparation with continued technical growth.
