Week #8 - October 6th-October 13th
This week was a much‑needed reset after a long stretch of busy days. With the five‑day weekend, I finally had the chance to catch up on sleep and recharge, which helped me come back with more focus and energy. The short break was not only about rest, though: I also used the extra time to work on some hands‑on projects and get back into building again.
Over the weekend, I collaborated with my friend Pratyush on an app we’ve been developing. It felt great to finally dive into real project work after weeks of mostly academic responsibilities. Being able to apply what I’ve been learning to something real reminded me why I’m passionate about technology and problem‑solving. I also started experimenting with a few smaller tech builds to strengthen my practical skills and get more comfortable with real‑world applications of what I’ve studied.
Leading up to the break, I wrapped up my schoolwork and made sure I was caught up before shifting focus to projects. I also sent a few follow‑up emails to potential mentors I had previously reached out to, though I haven’t received responses yet. I’m hopeful that I’ll hear back soon, but either way, the process of reaching out and maintaining communication has been a valuable experience in professionalism and persistence.
Overall, this week struck a good balance between rest, productivity, and reflection, which is giving me a clearer headspace for the upcoming weeks.
