Week #4 - September 8th-September 15th

This week was a meaningful step forward in my ISM journey as I began reaching out to potential mentors through LinkedIn and building contact lists. Taking this initiative has been exciting, and I recognize how valuable it will be to connect with professionals who can share real‑world insight into the field I’m studying. Building these connections feels like an important bridge between the classroom and the industry I aspire to join.

My research in ISM has also started to take on more depth. I’ve started exploring the Internet of Things (IoT) as a specialization within computer and electrical engineering. Reading research papers and developing a research assessment has given me a stronger understanding of how IoT stands at the intersection of hardware and software, and how it is shaping innovations in industries from healthcare to agriculture. This exploration is helping me form a clearer vision of where I want to focus my efforts, and it has opened up new questions about the skills I should prioritize developing.

Beyond ISM, I’ve also returned to preparing for the SAT. Getting back into the study routine has required discipline, but I know the effort will be worthwhile as I continue to sharpen my skills ahead of future test dates.
