Week #3 - September 1st-September 8th
This week was filled with many responsibilities and learning experiences. The long weekend provided me with much‑needed time to catch up on a backlog of homework, which helped me start the new week with more focus and a sense of direction on what to complete. I also spent a lot of time on my GT project, specifically the video about the Middle Colonies in America. Through this process, I picked up several new video editing techniques, such as trimming clips effectively and adding smoother transitions, which made the final product both more polished and engaging. This has taught me video editing skills and film production through my own ingenuity.
Alongside my academic projects, I began experimenting with an IoT project focused on monitoring the vital signs of plants. It has been a couple of months since I last worked on a hands‑on technical build, so returning to that type of project was both exciting and rewarding for me. The chance to connect engineering concepts with practical applications in environmental monitoring reminded me why I enjoy this field and motivated me to keep exploring.
One of the most valuable lessons I learned this week did not come from schoolwork but from an oversight on my part. I realized that while I had completed last week’s report, I neglected to actually submit it. This experience highlighted the importance of being attentive to details and consistently managing my time in an efficient manner. Going forward, I plan to be more mindful of my deadlines and take proactive steps to ensure I pay attention to all parts of my work.
